Fancy Display Stand for Your Carnivorous Friend

YOU’LL NEED
- Bundle of Rope
- Green Exterior Paint OR mix your own…
- Blue & Yellow Exterior Paint
- Large Disposable Cup
- Staple Gun
- Leaves
- Green Coated Wire
- Lava Rock
- Carved Fruit Friend
- Plastic Teeth
PAINT THE ROPE
Loosen the rope bundle.
Fill a disposable cup halfway with water
Add Paint and mix until you get the desired shade of green
Note: pigment separation is ok as it creates a cool spotted, texturing effect
Allow to dry
ATTACH THE ROPE
Starting at one end of the stand, staple the rope to the center post
Wrap the rope around the post until you reach the other end, add more staples and cut off the excess
Cut off a 2 ft length of rope and tie around the base of the center post Separate the rope ends until they start to look like roots
MAKE ROPE ARMS
Cut off two lengths of rope approx 1.5 ft long
Unroll a good length of wire but do not cut any from the spool
Place a leaf and one of end of the rope on the wire leaving
2 inches of wire clear
Wrap the 2 inches of free wire around the leaf and rope
Starting wrapping the rope around the wire
Once you are out of rope, cut the wire leaving 6 inches of wire free
Wrap the 6 inches of free wire around the post to attach the “arm” to the stand
Repeat steps – Attach the second arm
Add additional leaves to the post as you like
Add lava rocks to the base
Top with your pumpkin or watermelon friend and enjoy!
